The Partnership of African American Churches (PAAC) has been granted a construction permit for lower power FM radio station –
WSVQ LP-FM… Charleston’s Voice of Equity and Empowerment
The purpose of the station is to empower the West Side community by providing a platform for music, information, community education and advocacy to improve positive outcomes.
Why Community Radio?
Community radio is free and accessible, with over 90% of Americans listening to the radio at least once a week. Community radio is local, strengthens community ties and builds civic engagement. Community members participate in the station programming and governance.
